Sibahle Magadla is an Economic Development Specialist and emerging African voice in diplomacy. With a passion for amplifying African Voices on the Global Stage, she is deeply motivated to contribute towards global conversations and networks on inclusive growth, governance, and sustainable development. Her work in advancing economic growth, labour market resilience, and job creation has spanned collaborations with international development institutions, private sector, and government:

    • Sibahle has led has led inclusive economic research and policy work across Africa, including contributions to the International Finance Corporation (IFC), the International Labour Organisation (ILO), and South African government.
    • Sibahle contributed to the 2022 United Nations Development Programme’s (UNDP) flagship project, the Future of the Ethiopian Economy Study, drafting a chapter on women’s employment outcomes and female entrepreneurship, later presenting research findings at a panel session during the UNDP Annual Conference in Addis Ababa.
    • Through her facilitation of global dialogues – including the Columbia Africa Summit – she has successfully brought together government, business, and civil society actors to align on pressing labour and economic issues.
  • Additionally, Sibahle organized and moderated a panel session at the 2023 Women Deliver Conference in Kigali, Rwanda, titled: “The Nexus of Women, Capital, and Entrepreneurship in Africa“.

Sibahle Magadla has led inclusive consultation processes with diverse stakeholders – from grassroots women’s organizations and private sector partners to traditional leaders and government agencies, most recently in designing Just Transition strategies with mining communities as well as presenting research findings at the 2023 South Africa Presidential Cannabis & Hemp Convening.

Her diplomatic and multilateral policy expertise, gained through the Atlantic Dialogues Emerging Leaders (ADEL) fellowship, the Human Science Research Council (HSRC) Science Diplomacy Summer School, and her upcoming training with the European Academy of Diplomacy in Vienna Austria, has deepened my capacity to operate in cross-cultural, high-level policy settings – navigating complex negotiations and building consensus.
  • As Co-Founder of The Careerist Collective (TCC), Sibahle is driving a global initiative which equips young professionals with skills, mentorship, and entrepreneurship support to enter digital and climate-related sectors.
