Lonehill Estate (Nathan Ro, David Waugh, Sunshine D and Mark van den Berg) is one of the top live performing bands in South Africa.

With their mischievous rock sound, their shows are riddled with humorous anecdotes and eye-twitchingly good music. The band has achieved much in recent years.

The band burst onto radio in 2005 with hit singles “Girl On A Roof” and “Skyward” dominating the airwaves.

  • In 2006 the band was listed in Cosmo’s “Bands to watch” list.
  • In 2007 the band represented South Africa in London at the Global Battle of the Bands where their drummer at the time (Travis Marc) took home the award for best drummer.
  • In 2008 Lonehill Estate released their second studio album “Hong Kong Dollar” which featured the hit “Memories.”
(The song was originally written for a movie entitled “My Facebook Reunion” which unfortunately was never made.

The band did however get to perform alongside Muse, Korn, Good Charlotte and 30 Seconds to Mars at the 2008 My Coke Fest that same year.)

  • In 2009 Lonehill Estate’s ballad “Forty” was used in the comedy “Finding Lenny” starring Barry Hilton.
  • The band focused on funneling their influences into their new sound which birthed “Gangstar” and “Technoband”. Both these songs grabbed # 1 on SA’s 5fm’s local pop chart.
  • Other songs to grab attention and success in 2011: “Green Pocket” and “Single 3”.
  • Their electro-pop track, “DAANS!” (Along with their previous successful tracks) landed them acknowledgement internationally and in late 2011, the group signed a development deal with A & R Worldwide.
  • Their airplay includes the US, Germany and Japan. Follow Speakers Inc on Twitter
  • Their invitation to perform in LA and Switzerland exceeds – with these markets embracing the group full throttle!
