Key Takeaways:
When you’re not mentally fit, you feel mental stress — anxiety, frustration, or unhappiness — as you handle work and relationship challenges. The bad news is that 80% of people score below the minimum level of mental fitness required for peak performance and happiness. The great news? With recent breakthroughs in neuroscience and technology, you can now improve your mental fitness significantly within 6 weeks of practice.

During this workshop you will gain insight on:
That’s what Liezel van der Westhuizen was told when she set her sights on conquering the Ironman Triathlon—a grueling event that combines a 3.8km sea swim, a 180km cycle, and a 42.2km marathon, all within 17 hours. Rather than letting doubt and criticism stand in her way, Liezel harnessed it to fuel her determination. She crossed that finish line and silenced the skeptics.
Her journey didn’t end there. As she geared up for the Dusi Canoe Marathon, which spans approximately 120 kilometers (about 75 miles) along the Dusi River from Pietermaritzburg to Durban, she faced another obstacle the following year. “Haven’t you learned your lesson?” they questioned her. Her reply was straightforward: “I’m just learning, but I’m not stopping.” This attitude propelled her through remarkable achievements, such as guiding a blind athlete across the Himalayas at 16,500 feet on a tandem bicycle during an inclusive biking expedition from Manali in India to Khardungla, the world’s highest motorable road.
The journey from Manali at 6,500 feet to Khardungla at 18,350 feet showcased the strength of human connection and courage. Additionally, she bravely tackled the chilly 11°C waters of the Robben Island Freedom Swim, an extreme 7.5-kilometer (4.7-mile) open water race from Robben Island to Big Bay, Bloubergstrand in Cape Town, South Africa.
From prestigious financial institutions to tourism boards and leading sports brands, Liezel’s versatility and skill in connecting with diverse audiences have made her a trusted name across multiple industries. Her ability to seamlessly adapt and engage with true understanding and warmth, across sectors, is a hallmark of her career in public speaking
In recent years, Liezel has soared to new heights as an MC, marked by major engagements in Hong Kong, Venice, Romania, Seychelles, Bali, and the United Kingdom, as well as China.

Speaker fees can vary depending on factors such as expertise, demand, and event specifics. While some speakers may charge a flat fee for their services, others may have hourly rates. It’s best to discuss fee structures directly with the speaker or their representative to understand the pricing model.
Virtual speaking appearances can indeed offer cost savings compared to in-person events. Virtual speaking rates are often 10-50% cheaper than in-person rates due to factors such as reduced travel expenses and logistics. This makes virtual events a cost-effective alternative for organizations looking to book speakers within a budget.
Keynote speeches typically range from 30 to 90 minutes, with the duration determined by the speaker’s expertise, the event’s agenda, and audience preferences. Keynote speeches often include a combination of inspirational stories, practical insights, and actionable advice tailored to the event’s theme or objectives.
The scale of the event and audience size can indeed impact a speaker’s fee. Larger events with a broader reach or higher attendance may command higher fees due to increased exposure and demand. Conversely, smaller events or niche audiences may offer opportunities for more flexible pricing arrangements.
Travel expenses such as transportation, accommodation, and meals are typically negotiated separately from the speaker’s fee. These costs vary depending on the speaker’s location, travel distance, and event duration. It’s important to clarify travel arrangements and expenses during the booking process to avoid misunderstandings.
Many speakers require a deposit to secure a booking, with the remaining balance due closer to the event date. Deposits are often non-refundable and serve as a commitment from both parties. It’s advisable to discuss deposit requirements and payment terms with the speaker or their representative when finalizing the booking.
