After being retrenched from a job she held to for dear life, Nicky Verd hit rock bottom, literally. But rose back up, upskilled/reinvented herself and is now empowering others to do the same. The Fourth Industrial Revolution(4IR) is creating a demand for new skills and competencies and “Disrupt Yourself Or Be Disrupted” is a tool to equip and empower yourself for this shift in paradigm.
After being retrenched from a job she held unto for dear life, and crying herself to sleep for months, Nicky Verd started to get that uncomfortable feeling in the pit of her stomach, the kind of nagging feeling that yelled “You are better than this – there is more in you!”
Her quest led to a completely new world. Her curiosity led her to the discovery of emerging technologies and how they are playing a major role in job displacement and redundancy.
Having no University Degree or background in IT, Nicky Verd armed herself with nothing but curiosity as she embarked on a journey to understand the holistic nature of the Fourth Industrial Revolution and is now dedicated to empowering people to understand how disruptive technologies are impacting the workplace, as well as youths/students to rise above their circumstances, disrupt the status quo, embrace 4IR, upskill themselves and become part of the revolution.
However, Nicky Verd is no stranger to struggles, she has experienced deep pain, loneliness, betrayal, rejection, poverty, abuse, heartbreak and shame.
She dug deep into her shadow to overcome her struggles and a crippling low self-esteem and now dedicated to inspiring others to do the same. She is not confused by her mandate and her calling is clear as crystal – To ignite human potential in the age of Artificial Intelligence and exponential technologies…
