Kaluba Chikonde has an insatiable desire for helping others succeed. Driven by compassion, she helps build the youth to excel in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM).

She believes that having successful women as role models is essential for our progress as human beings and subsequently enjoys taking up leadership roles that allow her to teach, empower and inspire others.
Kaluba Chikonde strong analytical background and programming skills have led her to her current role as a Data Engineer at AI-enablement consultancy, Teraflow.ai. She is also co-founder of Coding4Finance, an educational programme for young professionals with no prior coding experience to learn coding and the Python programming language.
As a testament to Kaluba Chikonde capabilities and excellence as a young leader in STEM, Kaluba is also a UCT Women in Computer Science Mentor and a UCT Cryptocurrency and Artificial Intelligence society speaker for Breaking into AI in collaboration with DeepLearning.AI, among many other achievements.
As a young, intelligent and formidable student from Zambia, Kaluba had a very different future planned out for herself. Aspiring to become a doctor due to the pressure from her parents and community, Kaluba’s life would take a surprising turn. She relocated to South Africa with her family and her plans to become a doctor quickly fell apart.
For the first time, she had experienced failure. She was rejected by all three medical universities she’d applied to. And so, her dreams of studying medicine were crushed. However, through resilience and perseverance, Kaluba prevailed when she finally pursued her true passion.
Today, Kaluba is a force to be reckoned with in the world of tech and data science. She is on a one-way mission to change the world for the better.
When she is not writing code or speaking, Kaluba can be found at a hiking trail, the gym, at a spa or surrounding herself with good company.
She describes herself as simply an ordinary woman who chooses every day to think extraordinary; set extraordinary goals, do extraordinary things and achieve extraordinary success in life.
