Neil Andrews is married and has two children. Neil Andrews went to school in Cape Town and completed a BA degree and HDE at UCT.
Neil has worked in Sports-casting for over 20 years and began his broadcasting career as an announcer, race commentator and journalist for the Cape Turf Clubs. From 1991 -2000, Neil was employed by M-Net as ION’s Programme Manager. Neil Andrews researched, developed and launched Sport’s Betting in South Africa and was the Executive Producer and Host for Superliet AM and The Ruling Price.
Neil was the first state witness at the King Commission of inquiry into Hansie Cronje’s betting activities.
He is currently contracted to Super Sport as principle broadcast anchor for live international soccer and rugby coverage. Neil is also the host of Vodacom Super Saturday — “Programme of the Year” (2005 S-A-Breweries Journalist of the Year Awards).
Neil Andrews does freelance work as Master of Ceremonies, Celebrity Host, Services and Guest Speaker.
Recent Highlights 2005 – Won prestigious SAB Award for “Talk-show Sports-caster of the Year”, received the award for “Overall Sport’s Journalist of the Year”.
Neil attended and anchored M-Net & Super Sport coverage of events such as The Louries World Sports Awards in Monte Carlo, Monaco, The Cathay Pacific Hong Kong, Sevens and the Pilsner Urquell Super Sport Shoot-Out. Neil was one of the ten celebrities in the first ever 24/7 Celebrity Big Brother. The charity project raised in excess of R2 million for the S.A. Children’s Trust.
Neil has interviewed the likes of Richard Branson, Will Smith, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Chris Tucker, Don King and Jerry Springer.
