It would be amiss if I didn’t talk about how I got there. People don’t want to deal or talk about the heartbreak caused by a break-up. It’s important to heal before you move on.
Healing:
Allow yourself to feel the hurt. Crying is a cathartic release. When you’ve broken up with someone after a long term relationship,it feels like a death.
So you need to grieve the loss by going through the 5 stages of grief denial, anger, bargaining, depression, acceptance.
Also whatever you do stay away from social media. I would recommend that blocking your ex until you’ve accepted that it’s truly over.
If children are involved then it’s important to separate your grief from theirs because the love you have for them won’t change,it’s just the circumstances. Time heals.
Oprah once said when you forgive someone who has hurt you, you’re not doing it for them…you’re doing it for you.
You are taking your power and freedom back from all the anger and hurt because holding on to that grudge eats away at peace of mind.
If you get an apology from that person then it’s even easier but don’t wait for that because it might never happen. Forgive first so you can move on with your life.
Moving on:
After emptying out all your luggage from all the pain and forgiveness. You’re left with the lessons that you’ve learnt that will better equip you in your next relationship.
Lesson is that people come into your life for a season, a reason or a lifetime. In order to attract better you have to be better. You realize that you’re not the same person you were before and that.

Asanda introduces herself as a mind, body, and soul positive activist focused on self-development, self-love, and self-worth. She frames life as lessons rather than failures and centers the talk on finding love again. Using her own public breakup as context, she explains the emotional complexity of healing under scrutiny and validates grief as necessary. Crying is described as a cathartic psychological release that helps move from anger to acceptance.
She emphasizes forgiveness as a path to reclaiming power, citing Oprah’s perspective that forgiveness frees the forgiver. Asanda distinguishes seasons, reasons, and lifetimes in relationships and cautions against internalizing another person’s decision to leave. Co-parenting becomes a practical demonstration of maturity, respect, and child-first priorities.
From the experience, she distills lessons: do not pour from an empty cup, communicate when you feel unseen, focus on reciprocity, and value the small daily gestures over material markers. She underscores doing the inner work before dating again to avoid repeating patterns, encouraging viewers to unpack their emotional “luggage” so they can attract aligned partners.
A conversational segment explores authenticity from her early TV career. She chose to present as herself, arguing that you cannot sustain a persona and that audiences sense truth. Fearlessness and using one’s platform responsibly are recurrent themes.
On motivation, motherhood grounds her daily discipline. She accepts life’s curveballs and controls her responses rather than the uncontrollable. Looking five years ahead, she envisions a show or platform for real conversations, possibly a book, to amplify stories that help others grow. The session closes on a light, human note about dinner leftovers, reinforcing her approachable, genuine tone and the central message: healing, release, and self-knowledge prepare you to love again.
